Patience Cachet Collection Pendant
Artist: Jean Jean Vintage
The Jean Jean "PATIENCE" Cachet is in French with double-sided images and text as follows:
side 1 ∙ A Lion caught in a net with a mouse at his foot, slowly working to free him:"Patience."
side 2 ∙ A flower with her face turned to the Cupid-centered sun: "Privée de toi mourir," or "Deprived of you I die."
On one side, this seal shows the famous scene form Aesop's fable "The Lion and the Mouse,' which tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between the strongest and weakest creatures of the jungle. The story begins when the lion shows mercy on the mouse as a cub. Grateful that the lion spared her life, the mouse promises to help the lion if he ever finds himself in trouble. The cub laughs at the thought of such a small animal ever coming to his rescue. Years later, however, the grown lion becomes ensnared in a net and cries out helplessly all day and night for help. The only creature who can free him - by gnawing slowly, slowly through the net - is the mouse that he freed when he was a cub. A powerful message of "small but mighty" forces for good, the power of karma, and the beauty of unlikely partnerships. The other side of this seal shows a flower with her face up-turned to the shining Cupid-sun. The flower says to the sun (in French), "Without you, I perish." The flower and the sun represent the power of Love: with it we thrive, deprived of it we wither.
