This pendant features an incredibly detailed greyhound. Essex crystal or reverse intaglio pieces were made by carving a the back of a domed rock crystal and then painstakingly painting an image with oil paints. Mother of Pearl was then placed on the back to then give the pendant a luminescent, magnified effect.

This is an incredible piece, most likely from the 1870’s. It measures 22mm in diameter.
